Eucalyptus grandis, known as the flooded gum or rose gum, is a tall tree found in coastal and sub-coastal regions. It can reach up to 80 meters in height, with smooth, grey bark and lanceolate leaves. Its flower buds grow in groups, and it produces white flowers from mid-autumn to late winter. This species is similar to the Sydney blue gum (E. saligna) but has wider leaves and distinctive fruit. The mountain blue gum has entirely smooth bark and broader adult leaves.
