Foxtail millet, known as Setaria italica, is a key food crop. It's the second most cultivated millet globally and tops the list in Asia. The earliest record of foxtail millet farming dates back 8,000 years in China. This annual grass boasts slender, leafy stems that can grow up to 120-200 cm. Its tiny seeds, approximately 2 mm in diameter, come in various colors and are encased in a thin, easily removable hull.
